Looking for some creative and enjoyable activities to share with your little ones? Getting ready for Halloween is a great opportunity for some themed arts and crafts!
We let our son use his craft scissors and work at his own pace. He loved this activity and even made a small one for our neighbors dog!
Materials:
- Orange construction paper
- Green construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions:
- Creating the Pumpkin Base. Cut several strips of orange construction paper. Arrange the strips in a circular pattern, ensuring that the ends slightly overlap. Secure the strips in place by gluing the crossed sections together. This forms the base of your adorable paper pumpkin.
- Crafting the Pumpkin Shape. Fold up the ends of the strips to give your pumpkin some dimension. Secure the tips together with glue, creating a compact and rounded shape that resembles a miniature pumpkin. Let your little ones get creative with the folding to give each pumpkin its unique character.
- Adding the Finishing Touches. Take the green construction paper and cut it into small strips. Arrange these strips in a circular formation, resembling the pumpkin’s characteristic stem. Cut them to size as needed and glue the green strips onto the top center of the pumpkin, completing the look of your cute and festive construction paper pumpkin.
With these simple steps, you and your children can enjoy a delightful Halloween activity, creating an array of charming paper pumpkins to add a touch of seasonal spirit to your home.
